CHECK OUT

Check out time is 11am, unless otherwise agreed upon with Mark or Kate.

Please ensure:

all rubbish is placed in the correct external bins - ie all recycling and organics placed in appropriate bins
any dirty dishes are placed in the dishwasher and the dishwasher is turned on.
the fire and air conditioning is turned off
the cottage is left clean and tidy.

Please RETURN the keys to the lock box ensuring the doors are locked on departure

Unfortunately we have had to introduce a late check out fee: if you have not pre-arranged a checkout with us, you will be charged a fee of $50 per 30mins if you have not vacated the property by 11am. We must be able to commence cleaning on time to suitably prepare the cottage for the next guest.

Internet – Unlimited WIFI is available for you to use during your stay.

Television

There is a single remote for the TV usually located on the small table near the TV.
All TV functions are controlled from the one remote including access to NetFlix.
To access free to air TV simply use the remote to select TV as the input.
There is no CD or video player available, if bring your own you are welcome to plug it in.

Parking

Off street parking is accessed via a small lane way between 13 & 15 Rosalind Street. Street parking is generally available in front of the house with no time limits in place.

Heating and cooling

There is a Gas Fire in the lounge room, reverse cycle aircon in the kitchen and both bedrooms plus ceiling fans in each bedroom. These effectively heat and cool the cottage very quickly, please ensure all air conditions and heating is turned off when you are out of the house and on checkout.

Gas Fire place – The fire place remote is located above the fireplace. It is suggested to leave the temperature setting as is (22C) and just use the remote to turn system on or off as required. Please turn the heating off when out of the house or sleeping. - DO NOT LEAVE THE FIRE ON OVERNIGHT, not only is the fire expensive to operate but any fire can be a safety hazard and must not be left unattended.

Reverse cycles – There are three split systems available throughout the cottage. The remote for the main living area is generally located on the side of the fridge. The remotes for the bedrooms should be located in the top draw of the bedside tables. All three units are reverse cycle and used for both heating and cooling. We find that the gas fire place does a good job at warming up the house without the split system being required.

Fans - Both bedrooms have overhead fans, the rear bedroom fan is operated via a remote which is located in the top drawer of the bedside table. The street side room fan is operated via the wall control unit.

Please turn off the fire, aircon and fans prior to check out.

Breakfast

Please help yourself to the breakfast and tea and coffee supplies left for your use.
Fresh eggs are from our free-range chooks and ducks when they are in lay (the larger dirtier looking eggs). The ducks lay their eggs on the ground rather than in a nesting box, hence can be a little soiled or marked on the outside, if you have never tried duck eggs -- they taste great!
Honey is raw honey from our bees - when available.
Coffee pods are sourced from Urban Brew. These are fully biodegradable and can be placed in the organics waste bin provided. https://www.urbanbrew.co

Bins

In order to reduce plastics in the environment we do not use bin liners. Under the kitchen sink you will see the general waste bin, the recycle bin and the green/organics waste. Please empty the house bins in the appropriate wheelie bins in the parking bay behind the house – labelled 112. We will rinse the bins clean for next guests.

The Bendigo Council has recently implemented a green/organic waste bin as part of the regular rubbish and recycle collection. All food and garden wastes go in this bin.

Oven

The oven is fully functional. In order to activate the oven, it is necessary to first set the temperature and then press the timer start button. The oven will not operate until the timer button is pressed. It is not necessary to set a time just activate the timer.

Items for babies/toddlers

The following items are available to use and are located in the front bedroom wardrobe.

Travel cot with mattress protector, fitted sheets and various blankets. Please ensure you follow the instructions for assembly to maintain your child’s safety. Please use the mattress protector provided under the fitted sheet for hygiene reasons.

High chair – assembly instructions provided
Nappy change mat/wipes/disposable bags – please ensure you use your own or our change mat when changing nappies.
Face cloths, large cloths are also available to use for feeding or cleaning up baby/toddler mess.

Please place all used non-disposable items (including change mat, mattress protector, cloths and bedding) in a garbage bag from under the sink and place in the bathroom when departing. This will ensure all items will be laundered and fresh for the next guest.

There are child sized cutlery and plastic dinnerware in the kitchen cupboards/drawers.
A few toys are located on the kitchen sideboard and games/drawing items in the lounge room drawer unit.

If using the spa with children, please be aware of the jets and their location and the main water return (large circular part in bath – this sucks water into it).
